India Under Heat: "Soon India could become one of the first places in the world to experience heat waves that break the human survivability limit"
"Of course, there is little point to sports. But, at the risk of depressing you, let me add two more cents. There is little point to anything. In a thousand years, grass will have grown over all our cities. Nothing of anything will matter.
Left-arm spinners cannot unclog your drains, teach your children or cure you of disease. But once in a while, the very best of them will bowl a ball that will bring an entire nation to its feet. And while there may be no practical use in that, there is most certainly value."
This is one such moment for the disabled community and beyond.

A good policy without enough budgetary allocation is like a luxury car without petrol to run it. पर्याप्त बजटीय आवंटन के बिना एक अच्छी नीति पेट्रोल के बिना एक लक्जरी कार की तरह है।
Request for an Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice on the obligations of States in respect of climate change
On the 29th of March 2023, the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a historic resolution by consensus (A/77/L.58) requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the obligations of States with respect to climate change.
The request for an advisory opinion acknowledges that “climate change is an unprecedented challenge of civilizational proportions and that the well-being of present and future generations of humankind depends on our immediate and urgent response to it”. The advisory opinion represents an opportunity to clarify the legal obligations of States with respect to climate change under the international legal regime.
The ICJ request adds to the two existing requests for advisory opinions on climate change pending with the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR).
Due to the unprecedented burdens on public health, agriculture, and other socio-economic and cultural systems, climate change-induced heatwaves threatens India’s progress in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
